The 2017 Honda CR-V

A Car & Driver’s 10 Best a year ago, the Honda CR-V is set to return there once again for 2017. Restyled, with a newly engineered power plant, and the addition of a turbo charged motor, the 2017 CR-V receives a deep overhaul by Honda, allowing it to continue stay one step ahead of the mob of mid-sized SUV’s.

With updates to interior, safety, and technology, Honda intends to pile it on the competition to deliver potentially its most competent and advanced sport SUV yet.

Fuel economy ratings improve in the CR-V for 2017, and this despite the increase in horsepower and performance. America’s favorite SUV because of its reliability, competence, and versatility, Honda’s CR-V continues delivering on what buyers want and need.

Look for even more CR-V’s on US streets for the future. And a lot of happy SUV drivers along with it.

New power and performance in the 2017 CR-V

A turbocharged engine goes into the CR-V for the first time in its history. The 1.5L DOHC inline 4-cylinder is rated at 190HP. The other engine option is a 2.4L DOHC i-VTECO 4-cylinder with slightly less horsepower than the turbo. Both come with a CV transmission with sport mode standard, aided by Honda G-Shift control logic. A nice core of standard features that enhance performance come in the CR-V, including Drive by Wire Throttle System, Hill Start Assist, Eco Assist™ System, Electric Parking Brake, and Active Noise Cancellation™.

Another great decision by Honda is that it offers it’s AWD with Intelligent Control System™ in all CR-V trims.

Honda CR-V’s exterior more angular for 2017

Athleticism and sportiness is the trend in new vehicle exteriors across all makes and models and no one may be doing it better than Honda, and its CR-V. New for 2017 is an Active Shutter System in the front fascia. It opens and closes to regulate aerodynamics and engine airflow. Most notable in the CR-V is the newly redesigned LED headlights that are integrated into the more athletic front. The rear is also redesigned and sits higher, has dual exhaust, and increased angular lines.

CR-V interior restyled for 2017

What goes for the CR-V’s exterior is also true for its interior. Honda has restyled the interior to include subtle design changes that has made it even more refined and sophisticated. Comfort can be had as well with Honda’s 12-way adjustable power seats with 4-way adjustable lumbar support. Wood and chrome trim, leather wrapped heated steering wheel and available leather seats combine for much comfort and style. Available features like Dual Auto Climate Control and Heated Front Seats add to it.

Honda CR-V safety

Advanced safety features come standard in the CR-V. Surrounded by size of comfort of the CR-V, you can feel more assured with the Vehicle Safety Assist, Anti-Lock Braking system, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, TPMS and rearview camera. Honda Safety Sense is now standard on EX models and up.

2017 Honda CR-V Technology

Driver assist technology available includes Honda Lane Watch™ and available Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. The CR-V is packed with audio and connectivity. Bluetooth Hands Free and Streaming Audio are standard and includes speed sensitive volume control.
